Genewise currently provides FASTQ files only. Genewise does not provide VCF, BAM, CRAM, ancestry reports, health reports, carrier screening reports, physician review, genetic counseling, diagnosis, treatment recommendations, or medical interpretation.
3. Not a Medical or Diagnostic Service
Genewise is a consumer sequencing service. Genewise is not a medical provider and does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, treatment, clinical interpretation, or genetic counseling.
Your FASTQ file should not be used as the sole basis for medical decisions. Any medical or clinical use of downstream analysis should be reviewed with an appropriately qualified healthcare professional and, where applicable, confirmed through clinically validated testing.
4. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old to use the Genewise service.
You may order the service for yourself or for your child or dependent if you have the legal authority to submit that person's biological sample and receive the resulting genomic data.
You are solely responsible for ensuring that any sample you submit is collected and submitted lawfully and with proper authority.
5. U.S. Availability Only
The Genewise service is currently available only in the United States. You may not place an order for delivery outside the United States.

You may be required to create an account to place an order, view order status, or access delivery information. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity under your account.
You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information when placing an order.
7. Order Process
After you place an order, Genewise will send a cheek swab kit to the shipping address you provide. You are responsible for completing the collection process according to the kit instructions and returning the sample using the provided process.
Failure to follow collection or shipping instructions may result in sample failure, processing delays, or inability to generate a FASTQ file.
8. Timeline
The current estimated timeline is 6 to 8 weeks after your sample is received. This timeline is an estimate and not a guarantee. Expedited processing is not available at this time.
Genewise is not responsible for delays caused by shipping carriers, incomplete or incorrect customer information, sample quality issues, laboratory delays, force majeure events, or circumstances outside Genewise's reasonable control.
9. Price and Payment
The current price is $499 flat. This includes the kit, U.S. shipping, processing, secure digital delivery, and secure destruction workflow after the delivery period.
Payments are processed through Stripe. Genewise does not store full credit card numbers.
Prices may change in the future, but price changes will not affect orders already placed and paid for unless otherwise stated at checkout.
10. Refunds, Failed Samples, and Re-Collection
If your sample fails due to collection quality, shipping issues, contamination, insufficient DNA, or other technical issues, Genewise may, at its discretion, offer one replacement kit or re-collection attempt. Refunds are not guaranteed once a kit has shipped or processing has begun.
If Genewise cannot complete sequencing after reasonable processing attempts, Genewise may offer a refund, replacement kit, or other remedy at its discretion.

You are responsible for downloading and preserving your FASTQ file during the retrieval period. After the retrieval period, Genewise may not be able to provide another copy.
13. Customer Responsibility for Genetic Data
You understand that genomic data is sensitive and may reveal information about you and biological relatives.

You are also responsible for evaluating any third-party researcher, software provider, cloud storage provider, analysis platform, bioinformatics consultant, healthcare provider, or other recipient with whom you share your file.
14. No Liability for Downstream Use
